Product details

Ceiling mounted fire extinguisher with MAP 50 powder

This FireSpray ceiling mounted fire extinguisher is our value automatic model. It hangs above the risk and works on its own: when a fire raises the temperature, the glass bulb breaks and the unit releases MAP 50 ABC dry powder over the area below. It keeps guarding stores, parking and service areas at night, on holidays and during shift changes. It carries the ISI mark, is pressure-tested at our factory and has a 5-year warranty from the invoice date. Choose 5 kg or 10 kg; select a size above to see its price (plus GST).

What it protects

MAP 50 powder has more active powder than the everyday MAP 40 grade and covers three classes of fire:

  • Class A: paper files, cartons, cloth, wood and plastic.
  • Class B: petrol, diesel and oil.
  • Class C: flammable gases.

Typical places are basement and stilt parking, store rooms, record rooms, corridors, lift machine rooms, service areas, small workshops and DG set enclosures. These are spaces that are often empty but still hold stock, vehicles or wiring.

When to choose a different unit

For high-risk sites with a lot of fuel or stock, step up to the ABC modular fire extinguisher with MAP 90. For server rooms and electrical rooms, powder residue can damage equipment, so choose the clean agent modular fire extinguisher, or the stainless steel auto modular unit for damp areas. Kitchen oil fires need a K-type extinguisher, not a ceiling unit.

Which size do I need?

Size Good for
5 kg Store rooms, record rooms, lift machine rooms, small workshops
10 kg Parking bays, long corridors, larger service areas

How much area one unit covers depends on its size and the ceiling height. For a whole floor, ask us for a free placement plan. Share the floor size, ceiling height and what is kept there, and we will mark where each unit should go.

Fitting it correctly

  • Fix the mounting plate to a solid ceiling, directly above the area at risk.
  • Keep the glass bulb clear of beams, ducts and false-ceiling panels.
  • Do not paint over the bulb or hang anything from the unit.

We can arrange installation on business orders. An overhead unit only acts once the heat is high enough, so keep a portable ABC MAP 50 extinguisher by the door as well. If the unit goes off, leave the room, then ventilate it before cleaning up the powder.

Monthly check

Check that the gauge needle is in the green zone, the glass bulb is unbroken and the body has no dents or rust. The unit stays factory-sealed, so there are no yearly refills; if a covered unit fails, we replace it. See refill vs replace.

Fitting out a building?

Builders, offices, malls and factories get factory pricing, a GST invoice and a placement plan as per IS 2190 on orders of 10 or more, showing where each ceiling mounted fire extinguisher should go, plus free staff fire-safety training. Ask for a bulk quote.

All questions
Does a ceiling mounted fire extinguisher need anyone to operate it?

No. The glass bulb breaks when a fire heats it and the unit releases MAP 50 powder over the area below, even when the room is empty.

Is MAP 50 enough for basement parking?

For everyday parking and store areas, yes. For parking with heavy fuel risk or large godowns, the MAP 90 modular unit gives faster knock-down.

Should I choose 5 kg or 10 kg?

5 kg suits smaller rooms such as store rooms and lift machine rooms; 10 kg suits parking bays and larger service areas.

Can I install the unit myself?

It is fixed to a solid ceiling with its mounting plate, directly above the risk. For business orders we can arrange installation and plan placement for free.

How does an automatic fire extinguisher work?

A glass bulb breaks at a set temperature and releases the agent over the area below, with no one needed.
