Product details

Wheeled fire extinguisher: 25 kg and 50 kg ABC trolley

A wheeled fire extinguisher carries 25 kg or 50 kg of ABC dry powder on a heavy-duty trolley, many times what a portable unit holds. It is made for large open areas where a fire can spread across a wide floor before a hand-held extinguisher could stop it. One person wheels it to the fire and fights it with a long hose. Every FireSpray trolley is ISI marked, pressure-tested at our factory and covered by a 5-year warranty from the invoice date. Select a size above to see its price (plus GST).

Where it is used

  • Factories and production halls
  • Godowns and warehouses
  • Fuel stations and loading bays
  • Large parking areas and yards

The ABC powder covers Class A solids such as wood, cartons, cloth and plastic; Class B liquids such as petrol, diesel and oil; and Class C gas fires. On electrical equipment, switch off the power first if it is safe to do so.

When a trolley is the wrong choice

A wheeled unit is a back-up for big risks, not a replacement for portable units. It is heavy and needs clear, level paths, so it does not suit offices, flats or upper floors without a ramp or lift. It should not be used on cooking-oil fires; use a K-type kitchen fire extinguisher. For electrical rooms and server areas, use a CO2 fire extinguisher, which leaves no powder on the equipment.

Powder trolley or foam trolley?

Model Agent Best for
This product ABC dry powder Mixed risks: solids, liquids and gas in factories, godowns and yards
Mechanical foam fire extinguisher Foam Large fuel and solvent stores, tank farms

Foam forms a blanket that cuts off air and stops re-ignition, but it is not for electrical fires. Many fuel sites keep one of each. See all foam units in the foam fire extinguisher range.

25 kg or 50 kg?

Size Good for
25 kg Medium areas: workshops, single godowns, petrol pump forecourts, parking
50 kg The largest risks: big warehouses, production halls, open storage yards

Keep the trolley alongside portable 6 kg to 9 kg units within easy reach on every floor, such as the 6 kg ABC fire extinguisher with MAP 90 powder. Add fire bucket stands near stores and loading bays. Compare all ABC models on the ABC fire extinguisher page.

How to use it

  1. Wheel the trolley to a safe distance from the fire, with the wind behind you if you are outdoors.
  2. Unroll the hose fully so it does not kink.
  3. Pull the safety pin and open the valve as shown on the unit’s label.
  4. Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire and sweep from side to side.

This is best done by two people: one to handle the hose and one to manage the trolley. Keep an exit behind you, and if the fire is still spreading, leave and call the fire brigade. Our free staff fire-safety training covers trolley units as well as portable ones.

Monthly check, no yearly refills

Once a month, check that the pin and seal are intact, the hose has no cracks, the wheels roll freely and the cylinder has no dents or rust. Keep the path to the trolley clear of stock and pallets. A FireSpray wheeled fire extinguisher stays factory-sealed, so there are no yearly refills; if a covered unit fails, we replace it. Read more on refill vs replace.

All questions
When do I need a wheeled fire extinguisher?

When you protect a large open area such as a factory hall, godown, fuel station or parking yard, where a fire can spread faster than a portable unit can handle. It backs up portable 6 to 9 kg units; it does not replace them.

Should I choose 25 kg or 50 kg?

25 kg suits medium areas such as workshops, single godowns and petrol pump forecourts. 50 kg is for the largest risks, such as big warehouses and open storage yards.

Can one person operate the trolley?

Yes, one person can wheel it and use the hose, but two people work faster: one on the hose and one on the trolley. Our free staff training covers both.

Can it be used on electrical fires?

The ABC powder can be used on electrical equipment once the power is switched off, if safe. For electrical rooms, a CO2 extinguisher is better because it leaves no powder.

What is an ABC fire extinguisher used for?

It puts out Class A fires (wood, paper, cloth), Class B fires (petrol, oil, paint) and Class C fires (LPG and other gases). It can also be used on electrical equipment fires; switch off the power first if it is safe to do so.

What does ABC mean in a fire extinguisher?

ABC refers to the three fire classes it covers: A (solids), B (flammable liquids) and C (flammable gases). It is not an abbreviation of a chemical name.
